God’s Daily Care

God’s Daily Care                                                                   March 20, 2022

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.” (I Peter 5:6-7)

“Do not be anxious then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘With what shall we clothe ourselves?’  For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need these things.” (Matthew 6:31-32)

“But I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for God causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:44-45)

The scriptures above clearly indicate how much God cares for every human being whether they are good or bad.  According to the book of Genesis all creation exists for mankind and he has dominion over all of it.  God wants them to see how much He has provided for them so that they will, in turn, show Him their gratitude by living a life that reveals their appreciation for His constant care and daily provisions.

But, as you know, life here on earth isn’t always hunky dory.  We face uncertainties and disappointments, fears and concerns.  Followers of Christ are told to take all their anxieties and cast them upon God.  Let Him carry them.  Let God take care of them for you.  That’s not to mean that one doesn’t have to do anything about them.  God is there to help, direct, and guide them through those challenging times.  He’s concerned when they’re overly concerned and anxious about things and wants to make sure that those anxieties don’t control one’s mind and heart more than He does.  Anxieties can immobilize a Christian from functioning as God expects them to.  So Christians are told that if they love God then He will cause all things (that we’re worried about) to work out for good (Romans 8:28).  That good may not be what we want but God knows best and sees what we don’t see.

It’s also important to understand that God knows about all our needs even before we bring them to His attention.  Whether it’s food or drink or even our need for clothing God is aware of those needs and will help us in His time as He seems fit because we are of tremendous value to Him.  In fact, more valuable than any other created thing on earth (Matthew 6:25-34).

Even when mankind sins against God He still bestows His goodness upon them.  He allows the sun to rise on them when they’re good and when they’re the evil and He sends forth His rain upon them when they’re righteous or unrighteous.  He knows that without His help and blessings mankind would cease to exist.

God’s daily care is just one way He displays His love towards us.  Every human being means everything to Him.  If only God meant everything to every human being.  Each of us is so valued and loved by Him.  Don’t ever feel unloved or unappreciated.  Draw close to God and He will draw close to you (James 4:8).
