We are the Owen Sound Church of Christ

We belong to the Church you read about in the New Testament. Christ is our only head, and as His Church (Matthew 16:18) we seek to follow His design as outlined in the New Testament. The Church is composed of the people who have been "called out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ" (1 Peter 2:9). This the Gospel: the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:1-11) by which we are called and by which we are saved (II Thessalonians 2:14).

Our focus, time and money are used to fulfill His purpose as His body.

We encourage you to examine for yourself if indeed we are His body the Church.

If we can help you know God and His Word, please contact us. We would love to help in any way.

Church Of Christ Owen Sound

Our History

The Churches of Christ was part of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. The goal of the restoration was to bring back the Church as Jesus established in the first century. We believe in using only biblical precedents for our doctrine. The name Church of Christ is derived from Romans 16:16 .

Our Core Tenets

The Church is a body of people who have been called out of darkness into the marvelous light of Jesus (1 Peter 2:9). It is a spiritual body housing all the saved with Jesus Christ the Lord as head and sole authority. (Ephesians 5:23, Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18)

It is our conviction that it is only Christ and His word that has the authority to guide our worship and teaching and that the New Testament sets forth Christ's instructions to his disciples. (Matthew 16:19, 1 Corinthians 2:6-16) The New Testament serves as a basis for all we do and practice. We are an autonomous Church under the direction of the Elders as set forth in the New Testament. (Philippians 1:1, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) our worship is God orientated according to sound biblical doctrine. (John 4:24) We have bible study weekly and worship service each Lord's day. We are a recognized charitable organization. Our purpose is to advance religion by teaching the doctrine of the New Testament Christianity in a warm, friendly, family environment, and to please God, and encourage everyone young and old alike.

We hope to see you soon at our worship, God Bless.
